How to organize receipts

PURPOSE Organized receipts make expense reporting faster and reduce rejected submissions. METHODS Store receipts by date, trip, project, client, card statement, or expense report. DIGITAL RECEIPTS Save email receipts and screenshots with clear file names. PAPER RECEIPTS Photograph paper receipts promptly because ink fades and tiny restaurant receipts are apparently designed to self-destruct. BEST PRACTICE Do not wait until month-end to reconstruct spending from memory.
