How to handle a medical emergency
PURPOSE
Medical emergencies require quick, calm action.
FIRST STEP
Call local emergency services if someone is seriously ill, injured, unconscious, having chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, seizure, or other urgent symptoms.
DO NOT MOVE THE PERSON
Avoid moving an injured person unless they are in immediate danger.
GET HELP
Notify workplace contacts, send someone to guide responders, and provide basic assistance only within your training.
BEST PRACTICE
When in doubt, call emergency services.
