How to document a process change

PURPOSE Documenting process changes helps users understand what changed, why it changed, and what they need to do differently. INCLUDE Previous process, new process, effective date, affected users, reason for change, owner, and related articles or forms. COMMUNICATE IMPACT Call out deadlines, action required, and exceptions. UPDATE RELATED CONTENT Review linked articles, templates, screenshots, and FAQs. BEST PRACTICE A process change is not complete until the documentation changes too.
