How to recognize a phishing email
PURPOSE
Help users recognize emails designed to steal passwords, money, files, or sensitive information.
COMMON WARNING SIGNS
Phishing messages often create urgency, impersonate executives or vendors, include links to fake login pages, ask for passwords or verification codes, use unexpected attachments, or contain sender addresses that do not match the displayed name.
HOW TO CHECK
Look at the full sender address, not just the display name. Hover over links before clicking. Be cautious with shortened links, QR codes, attachments, and messages that demand secrecy or immediate action.
WHAT TO DO
Do not reply, click, or download anything. Report the message using your approved reporting method or open a support ticket with the full email attached.
IF YOU ALREADY INTERACTED
Record what happened, including what you clicked and what information you entered. Report it immediately so support can help reduce risk.
