How to use clear email subject lines
WHY IT MATTERS
A clear subject line helps recipients prioritize, search, and respond faster.
GOOD SUBJECT LINES INCLUDE
The topic, action needed, deadline if any, and project or account name when relevant.
EXAMPLES
Instead of 'Question,' use 'Approval needed by Friday: Q3 invoice draft.' Instead of 'Issue,' use 'Printer error on 3rd floor after paper jam.'
AVOID
Vague subjects, misleading urgency, old thread reuse for unrelated topics, and subject lines that say only 'Hi' or 'Help.'
BEST PRACTICE
If the topic changes, start a new thread with a new subject.
