How to create a strong password
PURPOSE
A strong password helps protect your account from guessing, reuse attacks, and automated cracking.
WHAT MAKES A PASSWORD STRONG
Use a long password or passphrase. Longer is usually better than complicated. A good password should be unique, hard to guess, and not reused anywhere else.
GOOD EXAMPLES
Use several unrelated words with numbers or symbols if allowed. Avoid names, birthdays, pet names, sports teams, company names, or common phrases.
DO NOT USE
Do not use passwords from other accounts, old passwords, keyboard patterns, or small changes like adding the current year.
BEST PRACTICE
Use a password manager to generate and store unique passwords. Your brain is great for ideas, not for remembering 78 unique passwords like a caffeinated vault.
