How to protect recovery codes
WHAT RECOVERY CODES ARE
Recovery codes are backup codes used to regain access when your normal authentication method is unavailable.
WHY THEY MATTER
Anyone with your recovery codes may be able to access your account.
HOW TO STORE THEM
Store recovery codes in a secure password manager or another protected location. Do not save them in plain text, screenshots, sticky notes, or shared folders.
WHEN TO REPLACE THEM
Generate new codes if you think the old ones were exposed or after using one.
BEST PRACTICE
Treat recovery codes like spare keys to your account.
