How to add headers and footers

PURPOSE Headers and footers provide consistent information such as document title, date, page number, confidentiality notice, or version. STEPS Open the header or footer area, insert the needed text or fields, and apply consistent formatting. BEST PRACTICES Keep headers and footers short. Avoid adding too much information, especially on documents meant to be read on small screens. OPTIONS Use different first-page headers or section-specific headers when needed. CHECK Preview the document before sharing to make sure the header and footer do not crowd the content.
