How to remove access to a shared file

WHEN TO REMOVE ACCESS Remove access when a project ends, a recipient no longer needs the file, someone changes roles, or a file was shared by mistake. STEPS Open the sharing or permissions settings, review current users and links, remove unnecessary people, and disable broad sharing links. CHECK Confirm inherited permissions or folder-level access are not still granting access. COMMUNICATE Let collaborators know if removing access affects active work. BEST PRACTICE Review permissions on sensitive files regularly.
