How to filter spreadsheet data

PURPOSE Filters temporarily show only rows that match selected criteria. WHEN TO USE FILTERS Use filters to view specific dates, statuses, owners, categories, amounts, or blank fields. STEPS Turn on filters for the header row, open the filter menu for a column, and choose the values or conditions you want. CLEARING FILTERS Clear filters when finished so hidden rows are not mistaken for missing data. BEST PRACTICE Check whether a filter is active before making broad edits or conclusions.
