How to make slides easier to read
PURPOSE
Readable slides help the audience understand the message quickly.
GOOD SLIDES
Use large text, short phrases, strong contrast, clear headings, and enough spacing between elements.
LIMIT TEXT
Avoid full paragraphs unless the slide is meant to be read as a handout. Slides should support the speaker, not become a wall of tiny courtroom evidence.
VISUAL ORDER
Place the most important information where the audience will see it first.
CHECK
View the slides at presentation size or from across the room to confirm they are readable.
