How to use charts in presentations
PURPOSE
Charts help explain patterns, comparisons, and trends.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT CHART
Use bar charts for comparisons, line charts for trends, and simple pie charts only for clear parts of a whole.
MAKE IT CLEAR
Use a direct title, readable labels, simple colors, and minimal gridlines.
FOCUS THE MESSAGE
Highlight the point the audience should take away instead of showing every possible data detail.
CHECK
Make sure the chart is accurate, sourced when needed, and readable from the back of the room.
