How to write a useful meeting invitation

PURPOSE A useful meeting invitation tells attendees what the meeting is about and what they need to do. SUBJECT LINE Use a specific title such as 'Budget review: approve Q3 vendor spend' instead of 'Meeting.' BODY Include the purpose, agenda, desired outcome, preparation required, and links or attachments. ATTENDEES Make it clear who is required and who is optional. BEST PRACTICE If the meeting needs a decision, say what decision is needed before people join.
