How to take meeting notes

PURPOSE Meeting notes capture decisions, action items, owners, deadlines, and important context. WHAT TO CAPTURE Record the meeting topic, date, attendees, decisions made, open questions, action items, owners, and due dates. WHAT NOT TO CAPTURE Do not try to transcribe every word unless a formal record is required. STYLE Use bullets, headings, and clear action item formatting. AFTER THE MEETING Share notes promptly while the discussion is still fresh.
